Please make sure the door is set to operate automatically before resetting (see Manual and
Automatic operation info sheet)
1. Turn off the main power supply to the operator at the plug socket.
2. Turn the power back on while holding down the red LED button on the underside of the operator. Wait for the red LED button to flash before releasing the button.
3. Press and release the red LED button. The courtesy light should flash and the door should now move into the open position and then continue to move into the closed and open position a number of times to automatically set the doors open and closed limits.
4. Once the door has come to a stop the limits should be fully reset.
Please note: This procedure does not erase any devices (hand transmitters, keypads etc) that are coded in to the unit. These should still operate the door.
The door shuts to about a two foot off the ground and stops. We press the remote again and it fully opens?
Hi Craig – we would recommend following the reset procedure above in the first instance. If the problem is persisting after reset, can you confirm if this happens when the activation button on the motor is pressed, or only with the fob.
My Hormann Promatic 3 has stopped working. I have tried multiple times resetting using the instructions, but nothing seems to fix. The door was working fine until one day, it decided not to close.
I have followed instructions and tried;
When ‘teaching in the operator’, the door is in the closed position and engaged with the chain. I then follow instructions to > turn off the mains plug > hold transparent button > turn on the mains plug > wait for the 2 flashes > press the transparent button.
At this point, the projector light constantly flashes and the door successfully fully opens. It’s at this point the door will not continue the learning runs – and i am stuck what to do next!
Has anyone had this issue or know how to resolve please?
Thank you
Mark
Hi Mark, if you have tried multiple resets and the fault persists this likely means that there is either a fault with the Promatic unit, or a problem with the door gear (e.g. incorrect spring/cable tension). It may be worth arranging an engineer to investigate further.
How I can adjust my door opening limit?
Hi Rokas, the limits are automatically set during the reset procedure detailed above.
My promatic has stopped working. The power is OK, done allthe tests and checks, switch on,hold and release button etc., this seems hit and miss. Sometimes main light flashes once, stops, kept trying, now light flashing non stop. Power to chain is there but nothing happening. Three hours trying various things, zilch. Any ideas?
Hi Geoff, if you have tried a reset and the motor will not complete the function then it sounds like the Promatic head unit has unfortunately failed. You could check the springs, cables, tracks & motor belt to make sure nothing is broken. If the rest of the door mechanism is ok, then it is likely a faulty motor.
Gone through procedure as above, but door not closing with remote. I know remote is connected to door as it has a blue light on it when I press to close door. We haven’t pressed the P button as I know that will affect remote which would have to be reset. Where have we gone wrong?
Hello,
It sounds like the remote has been wiped. You need to code the remote in directly from the Promatic Operator. Please see instructions on how to Code your remote from a ProMatic Series 2 / Series 3 here.
Thanks
Thanks saved my house getting cold after power cut
my door remote flashes two reds then 1 blue but it does not work the door i have put a new battery in it what else can i do
The hand control will usually flash red briefly before flashing blue to indicate low battery. It may be that the replacement battery is not supplying enough power. Failing this it could be worth ressetting the hand transmitter and coding it back into the head unit. The instructions to reset are here:
