Garage Doors for Security

Perhaps the most important and defining feature of all of the garage doors that we supply and install at ABi is a high level of security. How secure a garage door is may be determined in the following ways:

The garage door must be strong and be resistant to being forced open
The locking mechanism must be integrated into a proper cylinder lock and be resistant to ‘bumping’, which is a commonly-used lock-picking technique
The door must be installed in a position that is conducive to ensuring that its framework and fixings are secured to the door, and the structure around the lock cavity should also be sufficiently strong

If all of these three attributes are present in a garage door, it is fairly safe to say that the door is secure without any certification, although additional hardware may be added to many different types of garage door to provide extra peace of mind.

For even more peace of mind, there are a number of garage doors that we supply that are built specifically with security in mind. These include:

Seceuroglide Excel

Made from double-skinned, insulated aluminium, this electric roller garage door has been tested and approved by the Loss Prevention Certification Board (LPCB) to Level 1, which means that the door is officially ‘secured by design’. With its patented locking system which is integrated into area where the barrel and motor drive sit, keeping your garage secure from an array of different attacks using screwdrivers, crowbars, or specialist cutting tools.

Garador Guardian

This steel garage might have an essentially traditional up-and-over design and manual operation, but it is far from traditional in terms of security, with its beefed-up depth that is reinforced at critical attack points, extra bracing at the rear of the panel, 4-point locking system, and a cylinder with an upgraded European profile.

Hormann LPU40

These insulated sectional steel doors are insulated, double-skinned to 42mm and are fitted with electric operation for extra strength and resistance to break-ins. In addition, this door is equipped with extra panels and multiple rollers that run in captive-edged steel tracks. Choose from either Hörmann Promatic or Supramatic BiSecur to add electric operators that are also built with security in mind and create an incredibly secure garage door.
