Working with D & J Poulter Building Contractors to install a Hormann LPU40 Insulated 42mm sectional door in Leeds

The Brief

D & J Poulter Building Contractors were undertaking a garage extension project and required an insulated garage door to be installed. The door needed to match the existing entrance doors and windows and also compliment the architecture of the property.

Talking to both D & J Poulter and directly with the client, it was established quite quickly that a golden oak decograin door would be the most suitable finish, as this was a direct match to the existing windows and entrance doors. As the garage was attached directly to the property acoustic and thermal insulation was a key priority. The Hörmann LPU40 sectional door offers unprecedented levels of insulation thanks to its 42mm thick insulated panels and the addition of Hörmann’s low headroom kit ensured that the maximum drive through height of the opening was available. Hörmann are the only UK garage door manufacturer that design and build their own automation systems and they have a large range of options and features available. Part of the construction involved the installation of downlights in the soffit and we recommended the addition of a HOR1 option relay that would allow the lighting to be activated directly from the Hormann SupraMatic garage door operator providing additional levels of safety and security.

We liaised with D & J Poulter to ensure that not only did our installation fit in with their schedule but that the final product and installation methods complimented their construction.
The install took just one day to complete and all the components were thoroughly tested with a quick run-through to show the client how to use the system.
